Is there a generational limit for Italian citizenship by descent?
Generally, there is no generational limit as long as you can prove an unbroken line of Italian citizenship.
What is the 1948 rule?
Women could not pass Italian citizenship to their children born before January 1, 1948. Therefore, to prove your lineage it requires a court process in Italy.
